Biography —
Sarah is the Research Project Manager for the History of Black Writing and has worked with HBW since 2003. Sarah earned her M.A. in English from the University of Kansas in 2007. In her years with HBW, she has coordinated a number of programs, including the NEH-funded Language Matters II: Reading and Teaching Toni Morrison (2005), Making the Wright Connection: Reading Native Son, Black Boy and Uncle Tom's Children (2010), Don't Deny My Voice: Reading and Teaching African American Poetry (2013), Black Poetry after the Black Arts Movement (2015), and Hurston on the Horizon: Past, Present, and Future (2021), as well as multiple iterations of the ACLS- and NEH-funded Black Book Interactive Project (BBIP) Scholars Program. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She and her husband have two children.
